Tsehay ss22
"Tsehay" translates to sun in Amharic. As the sun rises, movement is reborn, casting its unbound shine and unmatched glow onto the world and our bodies. This collection is a vibrant homage to the untamed and enduring nature of the sun, a source of abundant life and light, celebrated by many civilizations since BCE Egypt.
Throughout history, many African goddesses and gods like Zat-Badar the sun goddess in the Aksumite empire (modern day northern Ethiopia), Liza the sun god to the Fon people, Nyame the deity of the sky in Ghana have been associated with the sun and the skies each embodying its radiant energy. The colors chosen for the collection reflect the gradients of the sun in the skies and waters.
The imagery evokes the beauty of light reflected in natural spaces, capturing the symbiotic relationships between the wearer and the product in nature. Eyes painted in golden and orange hues symbolize reflecting radiance back to the sun. Adorned in golden, orange, and yellow jewelry, each piece represents the bloom and fruition inspired by the sun's energy.
